A few days later, Egypt suddenly looks completely different. In Sharm El Sheikh, the city lights give way to the deep blue of the Red Sea and the rugged contours of the Sinai Peninsula. You can snorkel above coral reefs, sail along the coast, or let the afternoon drift by by the water without much fuss.
The Four Seasons fits remarkably well into both worlds: on the Nile as a stylish retreat in the heart of Cairo, and on the Red Sea as a resort where you’ll want to stay a little longer than planned. This trip brings together two extremes that complement each other surprisingly well.

Cairo is bustling, full of honking horns, full of surprises, and draws you in from the very first moment. You’ll stay on the banks of the Nile and discover the Egyptian capital from a different perspective each time.
Of course, the major landmarks are on the itinerary. You’ll stand face-to-face with the Pyramids of Giza, travel on to Saqqara and Memphis, and delve ever deeper into the story of the pharaohs. Lunch at Khufu’s, with the pyramids almost within arm’s reach, completes the picture.
But Cairo is much more than just ancient Egypt. You’ll explore Saladin’s Citadel, stroll through the Coptic quarter, and let yourself be swept away by Khan El Khalili, where lanterns twinkle overhead and the scent of spices wafts out from small shops. The Grand Egyptian Museum is also a must-see: an impressive finale where thousands of years of history are presented in a spectacular new setting.
In between, there’s time to just let Cairo unfold. A coffee with a view of the Nile, an evening where you pick the restaurant yourself. Because it’s perhaps between the major monuments that you get to know the city best.

After the cultural intensity of Cairo, the scenery changes. A short domestic flight takes you to Sharm El Sheikh, where the golden Sinai Mountains and the deep-blue waters of the Red Sea set the pace.
The next few days are intentionally kept low-key. No alarm clock, no list of must-sees. Just time for a leisurely breakfast and a lounge chair on the beach.
If you’re in the mood for adventure, you don’t have to look far. Right from the coast, you can step right into a colorful underwater world, with coral reefs and tropical fish just below the surface. Snorkeling, scuba diving, a trip on a private boat, or an excursion through the rugged landscape of the Sinai: you decide how much action you want to pack into your itinerary.
And if not? Pole, sea, repeat. As the sun sets, the mountains turn copper-red, and it becomes clear why this place is such a perfect way to end the trip.
On Day 8, we’ll be transferred to the airport for the return flight via Cairo to Brussels. With pyramids, palm trees, and coral reefs captured on film, and two completely different sides of Egypt etched in our minds.
