Luxury Tour of Egypt

Here, Egypt unfolds in a different way than you might expect: not through rushed day trips, but at an elegant pace that follows the Nile. You’ll travel from Aswan to Luxor aboard an intimate dahabiya, where every stop feels like a privilege and every view is an invitation to pause for a moment. With an expert guide by your side, you’ll discover iconic temples without the crowds, sample the flavors of Egyptian cuisine on board, and dine by candlelight on a secluded island. The journey ends in El Gouna, where The Chedi combines tranquility, space, and a touch of understated design—a gentle contrast to the archaeological grandeur of the south.

Itinerary

  • Aswan welcomes you with warm desert air and a touch of nostalgia the moment you step off the plane. Thanks to fast-track service and assistance, you’ll breeze through the formalities. Your first night is at the iconic Old Cataract. The evening is yours to enjoy—just what you need to get into the rhythm of the Nile.

  • Early in the morning, you’ll fly to Abu Simbel, where the sun bathes the colossal façade in gold—a sight that no brochure can do justice to. Back in Aswan, you’ll board the dahabiya Gaïa, a small-scale sailing yacht that lets you experience the Nile in an almost private setting. The afternoon is intentionally left open: a book, a gentle breeze, the rhythm of the water. In the evening, the crew serves a first dinner that immediately demonstrates just how refined life on board can be.

  • Today you’ll visit Philae, perhaps Egypt’s most poetic temple, situated on an island accessible only by boat. You’ll also see the High Dam and the jagged edges of the Unfinished Obelisk, silent reminders of craftsmanship that left its mark in granite. After lunch, you’ll dock at Her Diab, where you can swim in the Nile. You’ll end the evening on a deserted island with an intimate candlelit dinner.

  • In Kom Ombo, you’ll discover a double temple that blends symmetry with mythology—an intriguing combination found only in Egypt. As you sail toward Gebel El Silsila, rock formations glide by that served as a quarry for the pharaohs for centuries. Back on board, you’ll end the day with a relaxing dinner while the dahabiya anchors

  • The morning begins with the impressive Temple of Edfu, where the scenes on the walls are still surprisingly vivid. Back on board, the ship’s chef will show you how Egyptian flavors can be both simple and refined at the same time. Later, you’ll visit the Temple of Esna, which is often quieter and therefore much more intimate than the better-known sites. At sunset, life on board returns to simplicity: good company, good food, and the silence of the river.

  • Today is a big day, in every sense of the word. You’ll visit the Valley of the Kings, including the exceptional tombs of Seti I and Tutankhamun. Next up is the elegant terraced temple of Hatshepsut and the massive Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, you’ll stroll through the colonnades of the Temple of Luxor, where the light is perfectly captured on the sandstone walls. The farewell evening on board is festive, with live music and Egyptian warmth.

  • Your final morning on board begins with the enchanting Karnak, a place where every colossal structure seems to grow larger as you approach. Afterward, a leisurely drive to El Gouna is on the agenda—a surprisingly green and modern coastal town. At The Chedi El Gouna, you’ll enjoy complete tranquility. In the evening, you’ll dine at the resort, with a view of the sea.

  • These days have no set schedule, and that’s precisely the luxury. The Chedi offers the beach, tranquility, spa treatments, paddleboarding, yoga sessions, and light Mediterranean cuisine. Or you can opt for an excursion: snorkeling amidst vibrant shades of blue, a desert tour, or a sunset boat ride. Whatever you choose, these days feel like a gentle landing after the opulence of the Nile.

  • After a final breakfast, your driver will take you to Hurghada Airport. The trip is coming to an end, but the memories will last a lifetime.

Our highlight of the trip

“For me, the dahabiya Gaïa is the absolute highlight: intimate, peaceful, and with a crew that truly sees and takes care of everything. You sail at your own pace and dock in places where large ships cannot go. It is the most relaxing and exclusive way to discover the Nile”
