Luxury Tour of Thailand
On this tour, you’ll discover Thailand through a selection of unique accommodations, each chosen for its location and character. You’ll stay in tented camps and small-scale lodges, often nestled in the heart of nature, where the views and surroundings are an integral part of the experience.
The journey begins in the north, with temples, markets, and mountainous landscapes around Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. From there, you’ll head to Nan, a region where life largely remains untouched by tourism and where you can experience Thailand in a more authentic way.
Next, you’ll alternate between jungle and national parks in Khao Yai and Khao Sok, enjoying hikes, wildlife, and water activities. You’ll end your trip on the coast, where the beach and tropical vegetation provide a relaxing finale.
Itinerary
-
After arriving in Chiang Mai, you’ll leave the city behind and head toward the hills just outside the city center. You’ll stay at a lodge with sweeping views of the countryside, where you can immediately feel the presence of the natural surroundings.
Accompanied by a private guide, you’ll visit Doi Suthep Temple, situated on a hill overlooking the city, and stroll through the historic center past various temples. You’ll get a glimpse of daily life around the markets and narrow streets, and take time to enjoy a lunch featuring traditional dishes from northern Thailand.
-
You’ll continue your journey northward by land, taking in views of rolling hills, farmland, and small villages along the way. In Chiang Rai, you’ll visit temples that deliberately break from the traditional mold: the White Temple, with its bright, almost graphic appearance, and the Blue Temple, with its deep colors and modern touches.
You’ll be staying in the Golden Triangle, with views of the Mekong River and the borders with Laos and Myanmar. During a longtail boat tour, you’ll cruise down the river and see how the banks and landscapes of the three countries blend together. At the Hall of Opium Museum, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the region’s history and the role of the opium trade.
-
Travel to Nan via Phayao, with a stop at the lake. The surroundings become more peaceful, with less traffic and smaller villages. You’ll stay in a lush, secluded setting where you can reconnect with nature.
Accompanied by your guide, you’ll explore the region: you’ll visit salt springs where traditional methods have been used for generations, hike to a waterfall from a mountain village, and stop at a cacao plantation to see how local production works.
-
After a flight, you’ll arrive in Khao Yai, a vast national park featuring forests, grasslands, and waterfalls. Your lodge is located on the edge of the park, with views of open fields where animals frequently appear.
At sunset, you’ll head to a cave where thousands of bats take flight all at once in a long, flowing stream through the air.
The next day, you’ll head into the park with a guide. You’ll hike along jungle trails and past waterfalls, keeping an eye out for wildlife such as gibbons, deer, and—if you’re lucky—wild elephants.
-
You’ll travel south and arrive in an area where jungle and limestone cliffs dominate the landscape. You’ll be staying near the rainforest, a unique setting.
The entire day takes place on Cheow Lan Lake. You’ll set off by longtail boat and cruise among towering rock formations rising out of the water. You’ll have lunch on a floating platform and have time to swim or kayak. Depending on the conditions, you’ll take a short hike into the jungle or visit a cave, always accompanied by a guide.
-
After a short transfer, you’ll reach the coast and find yourself in a tropical setting. Your stay will be just like something out of a postcard: palm trees, beach, and sea.
You’re free to spend the last few days however you like. You can go for a swim, take a walk along the coast, or just relax where you are. A gentle conclusion to a trip filled with unforgettable memories.
