Luxury Tour of Southern Morocco: Memory Road
“Travel should change you, inspire wonder, and move you.” With this vision in mind, Memory Road was developed: a travel concept that redefines hospitality and the travel experience in southern Morocco.
This exclusive tour of southern Morocco offers a different way to travel: intimate, personalized, and entirely focused on the experience. You’ll travel in a private 4x4 with a driver and butler and stay at carefully selected locations where there are no other guests.
The route stretches from the Atlantic coast to the edge of the Sahara, featuring authentic stops along the way. Along the way, you’ll discover not only the region’s most beautiful oases, but also lesser-known areas such as ancient granaries, remote villages, and Tizkmoudine, one of the most remarkable restored villages in southern Morocco.
The trip is limited to a maximum of four people and is organized as a completely private tour, ensuring an exclusive and undisturbed experience.
Itinerary
-
After arriving in Marrakech or Agadir, your journey begins toward Les Arganiers, a secluded spot in the hills overlooking the valley of argan trees. You’ll stay in a private home where peace and space take center stage.
During guided walks, you’ll explore the area with a local guide. You’ll visit a cooperative where argan oil is produced and gain insight into daily life in the region. The days unfold at a leisurely pace, with dinners on the terrace and views of the changing landscape at sunset.
-
Today you’ll travel on to Tizkmoudine, a fully restored village that offers a unique glimpse into historic Morocco. You’ll spend the night in one of the original houses, where candlelight and lanterns create a cozy atmosphere.
During your stay, you’ll explore the village and the surrounding oasis. You’ll meet local residents and learn about traditional crafts. One of the highlights is baking bread together with women from the village—a simple yet meaningful experience that brings you closer to the local culture. -
The next stop takes you to La Maison Rouge, located in a traditional village with an unobstructed view of the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Built of red stone, the house blends seamlessly into its surroundings and offers a peaceful place to unwind.
During walks in the region, you’ll explore the landscape and visit local families. You’ll gain insight into how water management and agriculture have been organized here for generations, and you’ll have the opportunity to visit an old communal granary. The combination of nature and cultural encounters makes for a varied stay.
-
You’ll continue your journey toward the edge of the Sahara, where you’ll arrive at a small camp set around an acacia tree. Here, you’ll stay in traditional tents, right in the middle of the desert landscape.
The afternoon is all about exploring the surroundings: walks through the dunes and an aperitif at sunset. In the evening, you’ll enjoy dinner around the campfire, accompanied by local music.
-
The final leg of the journey takes you to a green oasis, where you’ll stay in a traditional home nestled among the palm trees. This place offers a more relaxed pace and provides a contrast to the previous landscapes.
You’ll explore the palm garden on foot or by bike, visit the nomad museum, and gain insight into life in this region. There’s also time for relaxation, with activities such as dinner and a movie screening under the stars. These days are the perfect way to wrap up your trip in peace and quiet.
-
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Agadir or Marrakech, depending on your flight.
