Itinerary

  • Upon arrival at Blaise Diagne International Airport, you will be greeted by our local representative and taken to your seaside hotel in Dakar. The next day, you will explore the vibrant capital on a city tour that takes you through some of the most important neighborhoods and sights. You will then take a boat to the historic island of Gorée, known for its colorful houses and quiet streets. During a visit to the Maison des Esclaves, you will gain a poignant insight into the history of the slave trade. In the afternoon, you will return to Dakar.

  • Today you’ll travel to the famous Lac Rose, a unique salt lake that gets its name from its pink hues. During a boat tour, you’ll discover how local workers have been harvesting salt here for generations. After lunch by the lake, you’ll continue your journey to an ecolodge in the Diourmel dunes. In the evening, you’ll enjoy dinner and the warm atmosphere of traditional music around the campfire.

  • On the way to Saint-Louis, you’ll stop in the Peul village of Nguelakh, where you’ll get a glimpse into daily life and local crafts. In Saint-Louis, take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the charming colonial streets and past the lively fishing village. The next day, head to Djoudj National Park, one of the world’s most important bird sanctuaries. During a pirogue trip, discover thousands of birds, such as pelicans and flamingos, in an impressive natural setting.

  • After visiting a local center for Talibé children, you’ll continue on to the Océan & Savane lodge, situated between the river and the ocean. Here, you’ll enjoy peaceful surroundings and stunning natural beauty. During a pirogue trip through the Langue de Barbarie nature reserve, you’ll visit the village of Mouit and the local market. Afterward, you’ll take part in a cooking workshop where you’ll learn to prepare the traditional dish thiéboudienne.

  • Today you’ll travel to the Sine Saloum region, a stunning landscape of mangroves and waterways. Along the way, you’ll stop in Kaolack for lunch and a visit to the colorful market. In Toubacouta, you’ll take a pirogue trip to a shell island featuring ancient burial mounds and baobab trees. The next day, you’ll explore the village and learn more about daily life and local initiatives in this region.

  • On your way to the coast, you’ll visit Joal-Fadiouth, a unique village built largely from shells and connected to the mainland by a wooden bridge. You’ll stroll past the famous shell cemetery and traditional grain silos built on stilts. You’ll then continue on to the Petite Côte, where your seaside hotel is located. The next day is all about relaxing on the beach or by the pool.

  • After breakfast, you’ll be taken to the airport for your return flight. You’ll say goodbye to Senegal, taking with you memories of breathtaking nature, historic sites, and warm encounters with the locals.
