Luxury Rwanda Tour at One&Only Resorts
First, you come face to face with a mountain gorilla. A few days later, you hear chimpanzees moving through an ancient rainforest. It doesn’t take long for Rwanda to make an impression.
For the first four nights, you’ll stay among the Virunga volcanoes at One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, where lush greenery, eucalyptus trees, and misty mountain slopes set the scene for one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences. Accompanied by experienced trackers, you’ll venture into Volcanoes National Park in search of the mountain gorillas that live here under protection. Afterward, at One&Only Nyungwe House, Rwanda takes on a different character. As you head toward Nyungwe, the volcanoes give way to tea plantations and a rainforest home to thirteen species of primates. Chimpanzees take center stage here.
Four nights in Virunga. Three nights in Nyungwe. Two One&Only properties that bring you surprisingly close to Rwanda.

Featured experiences
Face to face with mountain gorillas
Early in the morning, you’ll head into Volcanoes National Park accompanied by experienced trackers. Branches crackle, the foliage grows denser, and then suddenly a family of gorillas appears among the vegetation. This isn’t a safari from a vehicle, but an encounter within walking distance that’s unlike any other wildlife experience.
On the Trail of the Chimpanzees
Nyungwe National Park is home to more than thirteen species of primates and provides the setting for a completely different kind of trek. You’ll follow the sounds high up among the trees and, with a little luck, see chimpanzees darting through the canopy at lightning speed. Here, the jungle itself dictates where you look and which direction you head.
From tea leaf to tea cup
Accompanied by a guide, you’ll take a walk through the tea plantation surrounding One&Only Nyungwe House. You’ll try your hand at picking the right leaves and then discover how they’re processed, dried, and tasted. It’s a small experience that reveals a surprising amount about this side of Rwanda.
