Itinerary

  • After arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in the city center. The first day is intentionally kept low-key, so you’ll have time to acclimate or take your first stroll through the city’s lively streets.

The itinerary combines cultural and active experiences. The Cu Chi Tunnels offer an accessible insight into Vietnam’s history and impress visitors with their ingenious design. In the city itself, highlights include the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the colorful Thien Hau Pagoda.

A highlight for families is the excursion to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. The lush river landscape is explored by xe loi, bicycle, and boat. There’s plenty of opportunity for spontaneous encounters with local families, tasting fresh coconut water, and discovering traditional crafts such as rice paper making.

  • After a short flight to Da Nang, you’ll stay in charming Hoi An. The car-free streets, colorful lanterns, and compact historic center make the city easy to navigate and a pleasure to explore. You’ll discover the old town by cyclo, including the iconic Japanese Bridge. During a lantern-making workshop, every family member gets the chance to create their own lantern—a fun and creative experience.

In the countryside around Hoi An, you’ll ride electric scooters past rice fields and villages, guided and in complete safety. In Tra Que Village, the itinerary includes an interactive introduction to local farming traditions, such as making rice crackers. The day ends with some relaxation at An Bang Beach.

A full-day itinerary offers a choice between a cooking workshop or a rural experience featuring water buffalo, fishermen, and traditional basket boats. Both activities are accessible and suitable for all ages. In the evening, a barbecue by the sea (or a dinner among the rice paddies in winter) provides a delightful way to end the day.

  • The group travels to Hue via the scenic Hai Van Pass, enjoying impressive views of the mountains and coastline along the way. In the former imperial capital, the Citadel takes center stage; it can be explored by bike, an active way to bring history to life.

A leisurely boat ride along the Perfume River leads to the Thien Mu Pagoda. The emperors’ tombs, nestled in lush green landscapes, also capture the imagination and offer a glimpse into Vietnam’s rich history.

  • Hanoi offers a fascinating blend of tradition and vibrancy. You’ll explore the Old Quarter by electric cart, while stories and anecdotes bring the city to life. Visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Temple of Literature provide historical context.

In Dao Thuc Village, the traditional water puppet theater takes center stage. In addition to attending a performance, visitors can participate in a workshop where they make their own puppet—a unique and interactive experience. An optional street food tour introduces visitors to the diverse Vietnamese cuisine, with a focus on accessible flavors.

  • You’ll travel to the lush valley of Mai Chau, surrounded by rice paddies and mountainous landscapes. Along the way, you’ll enjoy panoramic views and mountain passes. Upon arrival, you’ll visit local villages and take a bike ride through the rice paddies.

You’ll get a glimpse into the lives of ethnic minorities, which is what makes this region so authentic. The peaceful surroundings offer a nice contrast to the cities.

  • In Ninh Binh, nature takes center stage. Visitors explore the impressive Trang An landscape by rowboat, with caves and limestone formations creating an adventurous atmosphere.

The climb up Mua Cave offers a physical challenge for those who are up for it, with a panoramic view of rice paddies and karst mountains as a reward. It is a region where space and tranquility reign supreme.

  • The tour concludes with a multi-day cruise in Lan Ha Bay. On board, you’ll have time to go kayaking, swim, or relax on the deck as the iconic scenery glides by.

A Tai Chi session at sunrise offers a serene start to the day, followed by one last activity on the water. It’s a charming and relaxing way to conclude a diverse family tour of Vietnam.
