Your Sicilian adventure begins as soon as you land in Catania. With your rental car and a handy information pack at hand, you drive towards Syracuse, where your first impressions of the island come to life.

Today, let yourself be enchanted by Syracuse: gleaming white limestone, a cathedral built on top of a Greek temple, and narrow alleys full of Mediterranean charm. Then Modica will capture your attention with its Baroque beauty and irresistible chocolate—a visit to Dolceria Bonajuto is a sweet must before you continue on to Agrigento.

You will walk through the legendary Valley of the Temples, where the majestic Temple of Concordia still stands impressively. Later, in Piazza Armerina, you will admire the magnificent Roman mosaics of the Villa Romana del Casale, before returning to Agrigento, where the temples are magically illuminated in the evening.

In medieval Alia, you will take an authentic cooking class at Agriturismo Lago Verde, where you will learn the secrets of Sicilian recipes. After lunch featuring your own creations and a glass of fine wine, you will continue on to the Palermo area, your base for the next two nights.

You start the day in Cefalù, a coastal town with a charming old harbor and an imposing Norman cathedral. Via the ceramics town of Santo Stefano di Camastra, you continue to Messina, the historic gateway to Sicily, and on to the Taormina region for two nights of spectacular views.

Today, you will brave Mount Etna, where the landscape changes from vineyards and citrus groves to lava fields and craters. At 1,900 meters, you will reach Rifugio Sapienza, where you can take the cable car to reach almost the summit. On the way back, we definitely recommend stopping in charming Zafferana Etnea. Here you can taste local delicacies such as chestnut honey with pecorino cheese or the famous eucalyptus honey, a small, authentic taste stop that makes your day on Mount Etna just that little bit more special. End the day with a wine tasting at Cantine Scilio: four characterful wines, local and pure.
