Luxury Tour of Mauritius & Rodrigues
Mauritius is full of surprises. Of course, there are the beaches, the palm trees, and those incredible shades of blue that will keep your camera clicking nonstop. But this trip offers more than just picture-perfect scenery. You’ll head to the lush south, where mountains rise from the jungle, waterfalls are hidden among tropical forests, and the ocean suddenly turns wild.
And then there’s Rodrigues. Small, quirky, and delightfully unpolished. No big resorts or flashy beach clubs here, just colorful markets, pirogues gliding gently across the lagoon, and locals who proudly let you sample their family recipes. It feels a bit like discovering an island that not everyone has found yet.
The finale? It takes place on the east coast of Mauritius. Imagine kayaking across mirror-smooth lagoons, leisurely lunches with a view of the sea, and days that naturally give way to balmy evenings. Exactly how a trip to the Indian Ocean should end.
Itinerary
-
You’ll land in Mauritius and head straight to Chamarel, where the landscape becomes strikingly green and hilly. This is where Mauritius is at its most beautiful: winding roads, tropical scents, and ever-changing views.
On the hike up Le Morne, you’ll set off early in the morning. As the sun slowly climbs higher, the lagoon unfolds dozens of meters below you. Challenging? A little. But definitely worth it.
The Wild South West tour also reveals a different side of Mauritius—one that’s less picture-perfect and more rugged, dramatic, and surprisingly diverse. Think hidden coves, steep cliffs, and scenery that sometimes feels almost cinematic.
-
After a short flight, you’ll land on Rodrigues, Mauritius’s little sister. And yes, you’ll feel the difference right away. The island is more intimate, rougher, and warmer in its simplicity.
During these days, you’ll discover Rodrigues from different perspectives. You’ll head to Grande Montagne, where exotic plants and impressive panoramas alternate, and venture onto the suspended bridge for a little adrenaline rush with spectacular views. On Mont Limon, the island’s highest point, Rodrigues unfolds as one vast green-and-blue landscape.Island life itself is also a highlight. At the market in Port Mathurin, you can stroll among colorful stalls filled with spices, tropical fruits, and local specialties. During a cooking workshop with locals in Ponpée, you’ll sample traditional dishes and sit down for a lunch that’s as convivial as it is delicious.
One of the absolute highlights? The boat trip on a traditional pirogue to Île aux Chats. Turquoise waters, a fresh BBQ on the beach, and a stopover on the tiny Île Hermitage make this day pure island magic.
-
After your flight back to Mauritius, you’ll continue on to the elegant east coast. Here, the trip takes another step up in luxury, with long beaches and a lagoon that almost glows. During a kayaking trip, you’ll explore the coast from the water, gently drifting past mangroves and small coves. The rest of your days? You can fill them however you like. With leisurely lunches, a book on the beach, or just another dip in that absurdly blue ocean.

Our highlight from the trip
“The day on Île aux Chats is fantastic. A wooden pirogue, a lagoon in fifty shades of blue, and a small island emerging on the horizon. During the crossing to Île aux Chats, Rodrigues feels for a moment as if it exists just for you. Your lunch? Fresh fish on the grill, bare feet in the sand, and the scent of charcoal wafting through the warm sea air.”
